Future Collaboration: GSC, WFUNA
Posted by Stephen Suryo on Thursday, April 07, 2005 at 14:21:44 EST
Dear Global Student Congress members:
It's been a while we haven't communicated with each other. The Administrators are making a good progress in establishing a long-term partnership between the GSC and World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). The initial meeting with Fruzsina Molar from WFUNA went extremely well. At this time, we are still in the process of finalizing some of the details, particularly in the selection of discussion topics that can be brought to the international setting.
We encourage the members to continue the discussions. The next two months will be an exciting time for all of us!!
Have a successful year!

Happy New Year! Hope all is well with everyone. Unfortunate event took place in Southeast Asia few days before the closing of 2004. Our prayer and thought are with families of the Tsunami victims.
First of all, we would like to inform you that one of GSC Project Associates, Sara Eber (seber@umich.edu), is currently in Florence, Italy for one-semester study abroad. Along with Krisztian Gal (krisztiangal@hotmail.com), She will act as GSC Ambassador. Please don't hesitate to send them an email for a possible visit to your schools.
A new working resolution entitled 'Rewriting the Laws' has been posted by David. It is viewable through 'platform' hyperlink. Everyone is welcomed to provide feedback in the next few days. If you have any difficulties in posting your comment, please send Stephen Suryo an email (ssuryo@umich.edu).
Have a very successful year! See you in the discussion forum!

Greetings,
Hope everyone is doing well during this busy time of the year. Whatever you need to do, do it well!
This past week was an eventful one. First, we would like to extend our gratitude to those from Grand Rapids, Michigan who were willing to spend a few hours with us to provide feedback and share some interesting experiences. Thank you! Krisztian Gal, a student from Hungary who is also a GSC member, also came to Ann Arbor and stayed for three days. Both Krisztian and students from Grand Rapids were able to conduct a meeting together. We hope it was a meaningful one.
There are many important things that came out of our meetings. I would like to highlight some of them.
1. "Everyone can write their own resolutions about something their passionate
about; It's okay to disagree with one another"
2. "Any resolution-writing is a good thing.... do it!"
3. We also think that if it's better for people to write a resolution in the language that is more comfortable, then feel free. It will be great if at the end the resolution is translated into English.
4. Possible topics for the resolution: Sudan, Kyoto Protocol, Ukranian Election, Religious Symbolism.
We highly encourage everyone to start forming a smaller group to produce a resolution. The discussions thus far have been wonderful! Let's finish off this year strong.
If you have any questions, please direct them to Jeff Kupperman (jkupp@umich.edu), Sara Eber (seber@umich.edu), or Stephen Suryo (ssuryo@umich.edu).
Have a wonderful week!
More Exciting News!

Greetings! Hope this message finds you all in great health and spirit. Truly November is a busy time for everyone. It's been almost three months since the GSC was launched. We have made a VERY wonderful progress thus far! Well done.
In early December, one GSC member from Hungary is going to be at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He will be in Ann Arbor from December 7 to 10 (early morning). Besides meeting the GSC group, he is also expected to visit various high schools in Michigan to share his own experience participating in the GSC. This is a very good opportunity for the students to see what the GSC is doing overseas.
The GSC Project Associates are currently drafting a resolution regarding the situation in Darfur, Sudan. Our focus is on the humanitarian aid issue. With that being said, we highly encourage many of you who have contributed significantly in the discussion forum to begin collectively writing the resolution as well. The Darfur Crisis resolution will be available sometime next week for review.
If you have any questions, please direct them to Jeff Kupperman (jkupp@umich.edu), Sara Eber (seber@umich.edu), or Stephen Suryo (ssuryo@umich.edu).
Have a wonderful weekend!
